Let's Go Back to the Bible

Your Father knows!

The religion of Christ is a very personal religion. It was prophesied by Jeremiah that God would “write” His law “on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people” (Jer. 31:33).

So, when Christ came, He placed a strong emphasis on that personal relationship. In His “Sermon on the Mount,” Jesus spoke of God as “God” six times, but He spoke of God as “Father” seventeen times. Do you see how personal He wanted His followers to see their God? Fifteen of the seventeen times, He emphasized that God is “your Father.” He is not simply “God” or the “Creator.” He is not merely “someone else’s” Father. He is YOUR FATHER!

Then, in the heart of the sermon, Jesus stated twice that “Your Father knows…that you need all these things…before you ask Him” (Matt. 6:32, 8). The Greek perfect tense emphasizes that your Father has always known what you need! He doesn’t forget! It doesn’t slip His mind! He has known, He now knows and He will always know! How personal (i.e., close) is your relationship with Him?
