Let's Go Back to the Bible

“Why do people need to learn about cheese?”

A four-year-old was talking to some friends (true story!), when she learned that her friend’s dad was a “preacher.”  “A preacher?  What’s a preacher?” she asked. “A preacher is someone who teaches people about Jesus,” her friend responded.  It was obvious that this four-year-old had heard two words that day that she had never heard before—one was “preacher.”  The other was revealed in her perplexed retort, “Why do people need to learn about cheese?”

Yes, it is obvious that more preachers are needed to teach people about Jesus.  Still, how did this child reach the age of four without ever hearing about Jesus?  Our world (i.e., our schools, our media, our government and our homes) is so fixated on teaching our children about cheese, bees, trees, please, degrees and disease, that they have deliberately set out to ensure our children never hear about Jesus.  Brethren, it is up to us to do something about this!

Who do you know (young and old) who needs to hear about Jesus?
