Let's Go Back to the Bible

Which one: The Bible or The Book of Mormon?

In Alma chapter 7 (from The Book of Mormon), Joseph Smith supposedly received a revelation from God that was a prophecy of the birth of Christ.  Carefully read the words he wrote:  “For behold, the time is not far distant that the Redeemer liveth and cometh among his people…For behold, the kingdom of heaven is at hand, and the Son of God cometh upon the face of the earth.  And behold, he shall be born of Mary, at Jerusalem which is the land of our forefathers, she being a virgin, a precious and chosen vessel, who shall be overshadowed and conceive by the power of the Holy Ghost, and bring forth a son, yea, even the Son of God” (Alma 7:8-10).

Hmm.  Did you notice where this prophecy said Jesus would be born?  Jerusalem!  Ok, so then open the Bible and turn to Micah 5:2 – “Bethlehem…out of you shall come forth to Me the One to be Ruler in Israel, whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.”  Matthew records the fulfillment – “Jesus was born in Bethlehem” (Matt. 2:1; see also v. 6).  We know the Bible is right!  Therefore, The Book of Mormon is wrong!  Be not deceived!  Read your BIBLE!
