Let's Go Back to the Bible

Where He is!

On the night that He was going to be betrayed, Jesus was offering comforting words to His apostles in an upper room, including an insider’s scoop on what He was going to do when He left the earth. “I go to prepare a place for you” (John 14:2). All of the descriptions of heaven in the New Testament offer a mouth-dropping description of an incredible place of beauty, peace, joy, reunion and rest that sparks a renewed motivation within us every time we consider it.

As wonderful as “the place” is and as magnetizing as “the concept” is of such an eternal abode, there is one reality of it that makes its beauty, peace, joy, reunion and rest fade into the background. What is that reality? It is when Jesus says, “I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (14:3). In heaven, we will get to be where Jesus is! We will get to be with Jesus! That thought ought to blow our minds, motivate our hearts, center our priorities and move our feet!
