Let's Go Back to the Bible

Whatever we ask

Maybe you’ve experienced something like this with your kids (and maybe your spouse, but we’ll just go with your kids for this one). Your kid is in the back seat of the car talking to you but has been talking for so long about so many random (non-sensical, sometimes) things that you’ve just zoned out. They’re talking but you’re not really paying attention. Then comes this line, “Hey dad/mom, are you even listening to me?” Your mind tries to do a quick replay.

It’s possible that you do not actually hear everything that your kid says. You’re there, but maybe you’re not really “there.” Think about this verse, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.  And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him” (1 John 5:14-15). Did you “hear” that? As a child of God, we can have “confidence” that we can ask “anything according to His will,” and “whatever we ask”…HE HEARS US! What a glorious thought!
