Let's Go Back to the Bible

What language do your children speak?

I admire those children who are being trained by their parents to speak multiple languages. What a great way to expand their minds and give them potential opportunities in their future. But some children are not being trained in the language they desperately need for their future!

In the days of Nehemiah, there were Jews who intermarried with the pagans in their land. As a result, “Half of their children spoke the language of Ashdod, and could not speak the language of Judah, but spoke according to the language of one or the other people” (Neh. 13:24). Many of these children were brought up and not able to speak the language of God’s people.

Brethren, that is still happening today. I’m not talking about English or Spanish or Greek. I’m talking about children who are growing up and do not know the “language” (i.e., the words, the teachings, the love, the expectations, etc.) of Jesus Himself! Do your children know the Bible? Are they being brought up in the “training” and “instruction of the Lord” (Eph. 6:4)? What language do your children speak?
