Let's Go Back to the Bible

WASH ME

Have you seen those cars that are so dirty that someone has used their finger to write “WASH ME” through the dirt on one of the windows?  (Or, have you seen a car so filthy that you wanted to walk over and write it yourself?)  We’ve personified the cars, as if they are crying out, “WASH ME!  WASH ME!”  But, really, that’s the message a filthy car is sending, whether someone has taken the time to write that on the window or not.

Ok, now to make a spiritual application.  There are many people (make that, most people) whose lives are so filthy with sin that their souls are crying out, “WASH ME!  WASH ME!”  Like the drivers of these cars, the drivers of these lives may be oblivious to their condition and even oblivious to the handwriting of others.  Or, they may be so “busy with other things” that they don’t think they have time to clean things up.  Not realizing, there is nothing more important!

Do you know anyone whose soul is crying out, “WASH ME”?  Even after one is washed in the blood of Jesus, he still needs that continual cleansing to keep him clean.  Think about it.
