Let's Go Back to the Bible

Try to wrap your mind around it and it just gets bigger!

How much do you KNOW about the love of Christ?  “Jesus loves me, this I KNOW, for the Bible tells me so!”  If you know He loves you, how much do you KNOW about that love?  “Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us” (Eph. 5:2).  If you know His love prompted Him to give Himself for you and me, how much do you KNOW about that love?

In Ephesians 3, Paul tells us how much we can KNOW about the love of Christ.  His prayer for the church was that God would grant them, “according to the riches of His glory…to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge” (3:14-19).  The Greek word for “surpasses” is found two other times in this book but translated “exceeding.”  “That you may know…what is the exceeding greatness of His power” (1:19).  “That in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace” (2:7).  How great is God’s power?  It is exceeding!  It surpasses all!  How rich is His grace?  It is exceeding!  It surpasses all!  How great is the love of Christ?  It is exceeding!  It surpasses all!  It is beyond our ability to wrap our minds around it!
