Let's Go Back to the Bible

Respect God’s Word that much?

How can you tell how much someone respects God’s Word? There may be a number of ways to answer that question, but one key measurement is to listen to his words. Consider the highest respect that two persons had for God’s Word—a respect that we must emulate.

In John 12:49-50, Jesus stated, “For I have not spoken on My own authority; but the Father who sent Me gave Me a command, what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak.” Think about that. Jesus would ONLY speak what the Father spoke. Now consider John 16:13—“However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” The Holy Spirit also would ONLY speak what the Father spoke.

The Father, the Son and the Spirit all spoke the same thing and would not speak anything differently from each other. What about us? Do we teach the same as They teach?
