Let's Go Back to the Bible

“It’s fun to serve!”

At a church potluck, a younger lady kept walking over to check on an elderly gentleman. She first brought him a plate of warm deliciousness from the food line. She explained to him the different choices that she had made for him. She asked him what he wanted to drink and returned shortly with his beverage. A few minutes later, she paid him another visit to see if he needed any more napkins or a refill. As he was nearly finished with his meal, she appeared with a small plate of multiple dessert selections, explaining who made what and encouraging him to only eat what he wanted. Before long she returned with a new cup of his preferred beverage, and she cleared all of the plates and napkins for him.

This woman was not related to this man. She had no real close “connection” with him. But he was an elderly gentleman who would have had a difficult time making a plate and carrying it himself. When I thanked her for helping him so graciously, she just said four words, “It’s fun to serve!” Brother and sister in Christ, “It’s fun to serve!” May we remember that!
