We look at what’s happening around the world and we may wonder, “What’s going on? How did everything go so wrong?” We may look at what’s happening in our own nation, in our own communities, in our schools and in our homes, and we may wonder, “What’s going on? How did everything go so wrong?” The answer is not all that complicated. We know the first part of Proverbs 14:34, but how well do we know the second part? “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” SIN is a “reproach” (NKJV), “disgrace” (NASB), “condemns” (NIV) ANY people! Sin does not show partiality to on America. Sin is sin in every nation! It will reproach and condemn any people! And fools just mock at it (Prov. 14:9)!
So, how can we fix this? Don’t you long to “love life and see good days” again? It will only happen if we follow God’s plan. “He who would love life and see good days…Let him turn away from evil and do good…For…the face of the Lord is against those who do evil” (1 Pet. 3:10-12). May God help us to DO GOOD–for the sake of our world, our nation and our homes!
