What does that phrase mean? When it comes to an election and someone says, “May the best man win,” what does that mean? When it comes to any competition and someone says, “May the best man win,” what does that mean? (And, why doesn’t anyone want the “Maid of Honor” to win? Oh, wait. Wrong “Best Man”!) It’s hard to say how anyone defines what makes a man the “best,” but usually this statement is made in hopes that the one who deserves to win will win.
Here’s the spoiler for you! The “Best Man” does win! In fact, the “Best Man” already won! The “Best Man” is winning right now! And, the “Best Man” is going to win when it’s all over!
Jesus is not just the “Best Man”! There is NO competition! Jesus is “THE Man” (1 Tim. 2:5). Jesus, THE Best Man, already won (Col. 2:15)! Jesus, THE Best Man, is winning right now (1 John 4:4; 5:4)! Jesus, THE Best Man, is going to win when it’s all over (Rev. 1:7-8; 21:1-7; 22:12-13)! Are you winning with Him? Will you ultimately win with Him?
