Let's Go Back to the Bible

“Leaving the elementary principles of Christ”

This article is being read by individuals at varying levels of Bible knowledge and strength of faith. Some are babes in Christ, who need to feed on the “milk of the word” (1 Pet. 2:2) and the “elementary principles of Christ” (Heb. 6:1). Others are maturing Christians, who need to be feasting on the “solid food” of God’s Word (Heb. 5:12, 14), and not continuing to partake of “the first principles of oracles of God” (Heb. 5:12).

Where are you? A human being must start with the easy food and gradually progress to the more complex, but a human being NEVER reaches a point where he can survive without regular food intake. The same applies to Christians. A babe in Christ must start with the easy parts of the Bible and gradually progress to the more complex, but a Christian cannot survive only on the milk (Heb. 5:12-6:6) and a Christian NEVER reaches a point where he can survive without regular Word intake. Where are you? Are you feasting? Are you growing? Are you progressing? “Let us press on to maturity” (6:1)!
