Let's Go Back to the Bible

How’s that “love” working for you?

Would you say that Christians in general are showing a lot of love these days? Well, to “each other,” would you say Christians are showing a lot of love? Remember that Jesus said, “… as I have loved you, that you also love one another” (John 13:34). But, what about to those who are not part of the “one another”? What about to those with whom we disagree? What about to those in the “opposing political party”? What about to the loudest voices “on the other side”?

Jesus said, “Agape love your enemies” (Matt. 5:44). He did not specify a particular segment of them. He blanketed all of them. Paul said that our “agape love” needs to “increase and abound…to all” (1 Thess. 3:12). These are not optional matters. These are divine expectations of each and every one of us!

Brethren, the more we begin to look like the world, the more we forfeit our friendship with God (Jas. 4:4). The world needs to see and hear God’s friends loving others like God’s friends!
