Let's Go Back to the Bible

He went to The Skull for you!

When Jacob died, “he drew his feet up into the bed and breathed his last” (Gen. 49:33). He died in a place of comfort and peace. When Moses died, the Lord “buried him” (Deut. 34:5-6). He died in the presence and peace of the Lord. But Jesus enjoyed no such blessings!  2019-11-11-He-went-to-The-Skull-for-you

In order to kill Jesus, “they brought Him to the place Golgotha, which is translated, Place of a Skull” (Mark 15:22). Luke says, “they came to the place called The Skull” (23:33). The origin of that name is uncertain. Some think the hill of the crucifixion site looked like a skull. Others point out that this was a place of execution, where the unburied skulls and bones remained. Whatever its meaning, this is the wretched place where our Savior willingly gave His life for us.

He did not just draw His feet up into His bed and take His last breath for us! He “suffered” unfathomable torture at The Skull, “outside the gate” of the city (Heb. 13:11-13) for us. And He did it while separated from His Father (Matt. 27:46)–not in His peaceful presence. Let all of that sink in. He went to The Skull for you! Where would you go for Him?
