Let's Go Back to the Bible

He was right there in the boat!

After a long, exhausting day of teaching and healing, “evening had come” and it was time to “cross over to the other side” of the sea (Mark 4:35). “Now when they had left the multitude, they took [Jesus] along in the boat as He was…And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, ‘Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?’” (4:36-38).

The apostles had been through storms before, but this one was different. It was not different because of the storm. It was different because of Who was with them! As the waves overwhelmed the boat, fear overwhelmed their souls. But why? Why were they afraid? Why did they turn inward? They were so focused on the storm that they forgot one key thing: Jesus was right there in the boat with them!

If you are a child of God, know this: (1) You will go through storms. (2) Some storms will be tougher than others. (3) No matter the storm, Jesus is right there in the midst with you!
