Let's Go Back to the Bible

“He is deserving of death”

The trial of Jesus before the Jews was a complete charade, a mockery of anything called justice and an obvious effort to manipulate the outcome in favor of their twisted plot! As “many false witnessed came forward” to lie about Jesus, He “kept silent” (Matt. 26:60-63). Then, when Jesus affirmed His deity, the “court” came unglued and accused Him of “blasphemy” (26:63-65). They pronounced their sentence: “He is deserving of death” (26:66).

Deserving of death? For what? Here was a man who never committed a single sin (Heb. 4:15). And He’s deserving of death? Here was a man who “went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil” (Acts 10:38). And He’s deserving of death?

No! HE is NOT deserving of death! I am! My sin is MY sin, and I am deserving of its consequences (Rom. 6:23)! But, He took it! He took MY sin (1 Pet. 2:24)! He took MY death (2 Cor. 5:14-21)! Thanks be to God! May I give MY ALL to Him and never bring reproach on His name!
