Let's Go Back to the Bible

Giving of thanks

So, how thankful are you? How often do you say, “Thank you”? The New Testament gives great emphasisto the need for Christians to be thankful. And, shouldn’t we? “Let the peace of God rule  in your hearts…and be thankful” (Col. 3:15). “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God” (1 Thess. 5:18). “Giving thanks always for all things” (Eph. 5:20). “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving” (Phil. 4:6).

How often do you say “Thank You!” to your Father in heaven? How could we possibly thank Him enough for our existence, our salvation, our blessings, our promises, our hope, our church family, our knowledge of His will, our fellowship with Him, etc., etc.?

How often do you say “Thank You!” to your fellow man? For the big things, the little things, the unexpected things? For gifts, for service, for kindnesses, for efforts, etc.? For providing an opportunity to serve and do good? How often do you give thanks?
