This is not about a Flea Market, but maybe that homophone will be a memory trigger – helping us to think about “Flee! Mark It!” whenever we see or hear about a Flea Market.
The efforts of the devil are abundant and come at you (seemingly) from every direction. He attacks when you expect that he will, and he attacks often times when you least expect it. So, what would God have us to do? Start with these two things.
Flee! Run away! Get away! God said, “Flee sexual immorality…Flee from idolatry…Flee from evil…Flee youthful lusts” (1 Cor. 6:18; 10:14; 1 Tim. 6:11; 2 Tim. 2:22). When the devil comes after you, take flight in the other direction!
Mark it! Note where you were when temptation came! Memorize where that line was that you almost (or actually) crossed! Mark it, so that you know where the temptation began and can stay a great distance away from that point! God said, “Abstain from every form of evil…Abstain from fleshly lusts which war against the soul” (1 Thess. 5:22; 1 Pet. 2:11).
