Let's Go Back to the Bible

Don’t be stupid!

“Stupid” is in the category of “bad words” at our house.  We don’t say it (except when Daddy said it in Soldiers of Christ one night about the children of Israel…oops!), and we don’t like it when others say it.  But, take note, that God called a certain group of people “stupid.”

In Proverbs 12:1, God says that “whoever loves discipline loves knowledge.”  Do you know anyone who loves discipline?  No one today, it seems, likes to be corrected, chastised, admonished or disciplined.  But, God says that those who do love discipline love knowledge.  So, if someone hates discipline and correction, then that someone also hates knowledge.

Well, that’s exactly what God says at the end of the verse—“he who hates correction is stupid.”  Now, from where does God’s “correction” come?  One place is found in 2 Timothy 3:16—“All Scripture…is profitable for…correction.”  If I hate God’s discipline/correction, does that mean I hate Scripture, a source of His correction in my life today?  God is always right!  We are not!  So, don’t be stupid! (Daddy can say it here because God said it.)
