Let's Go Back to the Bible

Do you ever feel hedged?

Satan was complaining to God about Job in the early verses of that book.  The Lord had praised Job, saying, “There is none like him on the earth” (Job 1:8).  But, Satan grumbled, “Have You not made a hedge around him…and around all that he has on every side?” (1:10).  Satan griped that he could not get to Job because of the hedge that God had put all around him!

David sensed the same thing, when he said to God, “You have hedged me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me” (Psa. 139:5).

Here is what the New Testament says about God and His people.  “In Him we live and move and have our being” (Acts 17:28).  “The Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one” (2 Thess. 3:3).  “The peace of God…will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:7).  “God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able” (1 Cor. 10:13).  God has His loyal ones hedged!
