Let's Go Back to the Bible

Confounding those who hear

“Immediately” after Saul of Tarsus became a Christian, “he preached the Christ…that He is the Son of God” (Acts 9:20). This wasn’t just something that he went around saying to other people. Verse 22 states, “Saul…confounded the Jews who dwelt in Damascus, proving that this Jesus is the Christ.” Those who did not believe in the deity of Jesus were stirred, amazed and confounded – not that Saul was merely saying that Jesus is the Christ but because he was “proving” it. The evidence he had of Christ’s deity was “provable” and “confounding.”

One may be inclined to think that the apostle had access to more and greater proof that Jesus is the Christ than we do. The truth is that he did not! In fact, you have more and greater proof than Paul did, as you have the full and complete revelation of God. The entirety of the Bible (with the Old and the New Testaments combined) provides overwhelming proof.

Get into the Bible. Use it to “prove” who Jesus is. Let the Bible (not you) “confound” others!
