Let's Go Back to the Bible

Aren’t you glad you’re made in God’s image?

God is all-powerful! When it came to His creation, He could have created you/me/us/mankind in any image that He wanted! He could have made us in the image of the llama or the monkey. But, He didn’t! He could have made everyone in the image of Shaquille O’Neal or Jennifer Lopez. But, He didn’t! He could have made everyone in the image of your second-grade teacher or your car mechanic. But, He didn’t! He made us…in His own image!!!

Obviously, this is not dealing with a physical image but a spiritual one. No other created thing has been made “in the image of God” (Gen. 1:26-27), having been given the ability to reason (Isa. 1:18; Rom. 1:20), the ability to know and to choose between right and wrong (Josh. 24:15; 1 Tim. 2:4; Rom. 12:1-2), the natural inclination to seek and to worship God (Acts 17:25-31; Psa. 19:1). But, that which sets us apart completely from all other creatures is the immortal soul that our Father has given to us (Matt. 10:28; Ecc. 12:7; Luke 12:20; Heb. 12:9).

Every person, without exception, is made in the image of God! Are we living like it?
