In 2008, the most popular names chosen for newborn babies were Emma, Isabella, Emily, Madison, Ava, Jacob, Michael, Ethan, Joshua and Daniel. Much different than 100 years ago. In 1909, the most popular baby names were Mary, Helen, Margaret, Ruth, Dorothy, John, William, James, George and Robert. When contemplating a name for His children, He announced, “I will give them an everlasting name…a new name, which the mouth of the Lord will name” (Isa. 56:5-6; 62:2). Like many children are today, God named us after someone else—His only begotten Son! Are you living up to your name?
