Let's Go Back to the Bible

A better church family starts with me!

“I think the church ought to be more loving.” “I think the church should reach out to our visitors better.” “I think the church members should invite each other into their homes.” “I think the church members should write cards of encouragement to each other.” “I think the church should learn to greet one another and see people at services outside their own circle.”

“No one from church ever calls me to see how I’m doing.” “No one ever talks to me at church services.” “No one from church ever sends me a card.” “No one seems to care about me.”

It is REALLY easy to point a finger and say, “This is what the church ought to be doing” or “No one from church ever does this for me.” But neither I nor you can control what others do. However, I can control what I do. If I think “the church ought to be doing such-and-such,” or if I am frustrated because “no one does such-and-such for me,” I should FIRST ask myself, “AM I DOING IT?” I am equally a part of the church. Therefore, I am equally responsible for it!
