Let's Go Back to the Bible

Thank You, Wednesday Night Attenders

Wednesday nights are special!  Some folks drive 40 miles (or more) to be at midweek services.  Some drive for an hour to be there.  Why?  Because there is just something about Wednesday nights.

While some might focus on attendance numbers and focus on “everyone who is not there”—citing as evidence that maybe it’s not that special—I focus rather on those who ARE there!  There’s a reason they are there!  Thank you to each one who comes and makes Wednesday nights special!

Thank you for your belief in prayer! We started our “Family Prayer” on Wednesday nights almost 10 years ago, and it is wonderful how much that prayer unites us together!  Then, some asked for those prayer requests to be emailed out on Thursdays, in order to keep them in regular prayer.  Thank you!

Thank you for your love for Bible study! We have been able to consistently maintain multiple class options on Wednesday nights because of your interest in a variety of Bible subjects.  We call our midweek assemblies, “Bible Study,” because that’s what we do.  Thank you for loving it!

Thank you for loving one another! Folks start arriving as early as 30 minutes before start time, in order to visit with each other.  Then, 20 minutes after dismissal, half of those who came for Bible study (preacher’s count) are still standing around and talking!  Thank you for being a loving family!

Thank you for bringing your children! Attending on Wednesday nights affects the family’s nightly routine, including dinner, homework, bedtime, etc.  And normally your family would probably not be out “that late” on a “school night.”  But it is so worth it!  You are helping your children to learn that the church is more important than anything else!  Thank you for making Wednesday nights a priority!

Thank you for bringing “older” members who cannot drive themselves! So many members would love to enjoy what you enjoy on Wednesday nights but are not able to drive at night.  What a great Christian service you are providing, when you pick them up and let them be “part of the family” that night!  Thank you for caring!

Thank you for encouraging me! Just by being there, you are an encouragement.  Seeing those who come straight from work is so encouraging.  Seeing those who are hurting (both physically and emotionally) is so encouraging.  Seeing the genuine love for God, His Word and each other is so encouraging.  Seeing the young families making the effort is so encouraging.  Seeing you (yes, you!) is so encouraging.

If you don’t normally attend on Wednesday nights, come and find out what makes them so special.
