Let's Go Back to the Bible

Let’s Go to Camp!

It’s Palm Beach Lakes’ week at Central Florida Bible Camp: Forever Camp. All of the planning and preparation has led up to this. With 118 kids and just enough staff to make all the activities run smoothly, it is amazing how wonderful a time Forever Camp is.

Many may not know exactly what goes on at Bible Camp. In fact, some may not know why we take up a collection to sponsor students to attend. I think it is good for us to understand why camp is important and why we need to continue to support this amazing program.

Forever Camp is FUN! Every day at camp, the campers follow a schedule full of entertainment, new experiences, learning and devotion to God. A typical day at CFBC includes team games (Defend the Tower, laser tag, etc.), sporting competitions (ping pong, volleyball, etc.), engaging Bible classes, and chapel time (singing, prayer, Scripture reading and preaching).  The kids love it!

Forever Camp is RELATIONSHIP BUILDING! At camp, children get the opportunity to make new friends and grow closer to the friends they already have from church. With such a large camp, kids come from all over the state of Florida. At camp they are able to meet and interact with many more Christians their age than almost any other time of the year.

Forever Camp is EVANGELISTIC! While most of the children that attend the camp come from sister congregations, many come from denominational religions or families without religion. CFBC opens the doors of the church to them all. At camp, they will leave knowing God’s plan of salvation, Biblical principles for living, and the examples of our devoted Christian staff and campers.

Forever Camp is ENCOURAGING! Many of our campers and staff see camp as refreshing. It gives them some time away from the world to be engulfed in Biblical thinking, surrounded by fellow believers. This time is very often a time for rededication, repentance and salvation. A countless number of teens and adults have responded to the gospel and are living Christian lives because camp gave them the last push they needed to make their lives right with God.

Palm Beach Lakes’ week at Central Florida Bible Camp is truly a uniquely wonderful experience, but if it is going to continue being used by God to enrich the lives of our children and the lost, it needs our support. In order for Forever Camp to provide the food, activities, Bible lessons and supervision necessary to run, it needs volunteers that are willing to step up. How might you be able to help Forever Camp continue to be a positive tool for encouraging our children?
