Let's Go Back to the Bible

Ladies, You Will Never Have Another Chance

Let me make a special appeal to every lady in South Florida, and especially those at Palm Beach Lakes, to realize the opportunity you will have next week. Imagine being able to spend time with a devout Christian sister, who has for the past three months been at the heart of the relief work being done by the Lord in Haiti.

Who can doubt that the Lord has been listening to the prayers of His children from those who are suffering right now in Haiti? Who can doubt that the Lord has not been using our sister Roberta Edwards to help those who are suffering both spiritually and physically since the earthquake destroyed the city of Port au Prince, killing nearly 300,000 and leaving at least 1,000,000 homeless? Who can doubt that Roberta and her 30 children have not been raised up for such a time as this?

An even more remarkable fact is that of all the women in the world who will be able to hear Roberta, it is those in this area who will be able to listen to her! Think of how many would love to be present to sit at the feet of one who has been part of distributing over 200,000 pounds of food to the suffering and daily providing for them.

It was last year, long before the earthquake in Haiti occurred, that Roberta agreed to be part of the 28th Annual Ladies’ Day at Palm Beach Lakes. The topic assigned to her, The Providence of God, was selected months ago. Since 1995 she has been in Haiti where she has “adopted” more than 30 children. Just a word of caution, do not talk about her work and use the term orphanage. It is a home! It is a home which is God centered. It is a home where children are growing spiritually to become the future leaders of the church in Haiti. Roberta has lived for decades governed by the principle that God will care for His children. She has lived it and will speak to our ladies about His providence!

Let me encourage every lady to invite her neighbors and friends to come. What a tremendous tool for outreach to those around to come and see Christian love in action. Let me encourage you to phone and invite sisters from area congregations to come. This remarkable event will never come again and we must seize the opportunity to make the most of it.

One final word to the men at Palm Beach Lakes. Let Gene Puckett know that he can count on you to serve the meal. Husbands, make every effort to ensure that your wife is able to come. Who knows what the future holds for our own homes? We need to know all we can about His providence!
