Let's Go Back to the Bible

I’m a Christian First

Life.  Sometimes it controls us.  Sometimes we get so entrenched in what we’re doing that we lose sight of what is most important.  As Christians, there is one simple truth that must guide every decision we make and every move we take—Christ is to “have first place in everything” (Col. 1:18).  Christ must have first place in my life!  My relationship with Christ must take first place in all that I do!  Above all other things in this life, I am a Christian first!

As a citizen of this country, I am a Christian first! My citizenship must not deter me from my first priority!  Rather, being a Christian should make me a better citizen and my nation a better place!

As an employee with a job, I am a Christian first! My job must not deter me from my first priority!   Rather, being a Christian should make me a better worker and my job a better place!

As a member of my family, I am a Christian first! My family must not deter me from my first priority!  Rather, being a Christian should make me a better spouse, parent, child or sibling and my home a better place!

As a friend to others, I am a Christian first! My friends must not deter me from my first priority!  Rather, being a Christian should make me a better friend and my relationships a better place!

As a member of various organizations, I am a Christian first! My involvement must not deter me from my first priority!  Rather, being a Christian should make me a better member and my organization a better place!

As a user of social media, I am a Christian first! My browsing and posting must not deter me from my first priority!  Rather, being a Christian should make me a better user and my posts, pages and walls a better place!

As an aficionado of fun, I am a Christian first! My hobbies must not deter me from my first priority!  Rather, being a Christian should make me a better participant and my recreation a better place!

As a student at school, I am a Christian first! My educational pursuits must not deter me from my first priority!  Rather, being a Christian should make me a better student and my school a better place!

Don’t let your life control you!  Let Christ control your life!  As difficult as that might be, that’s the way it’s supposed to work!  Life on this earth is not about living for ourselves but about living for Him!  “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me” (Gal. 2:20).  Think about it!
