Aren’t you glad that your God doesn’t condemn you and write you off completely when you make one mistake! Some people might think that of God, but that’s not how the Bible depicts our God! If God never gave second chances, then Jesus’ words about the “narrow way” would have read like this–“Difficult is the way which leads to life, 
and there are NONE who find it.”
Throughout the Bible, we read of those who sinned and yet God gave them a “second chance.” Adam and Eve got a second chance. David got a second chance. Peter got a second chance.
The God of love and mercy wants His children to be saved! He wants them to do right! He wants them to succeed! He wants them to go to heaven! (Read those statements again.) Therefore, from the depths of His love and mercy, He will continue to forgive (and forget) the mistakes that we make, as frequently as we acknowledge them and beg His forgiveness (1 John 1:6-10)! Thank God for second chances!
