Those who live on the Atlantic coast and along the Gulf shore know what it is like to watch a storm approaching for days (on the weather maps). Before it ever arrives, we can watch its progress and begin to prepare for its arrival. Then, once it has hit, we know what it is like to just sit and “wait it out” inside. Hurricane season is upon us again. Are you prepared this year?
As Christians, we know what it is like to endure the storms of life. Sometimes we can see them coming and watch their approach. Other times they might catch us unawares. But, whether they’re coming, whether they’ve passed or even if we are in the midst of one right now and “waiting it out,” let us remember that we serve the “Master of Ocean and Earth and Sky”! If our Master could command winds and raging waters to cease when He was on this earth, imagine what He can do for us from His throne in heaven! All it requires is faith on our part. Remember what He said the disciples who feared the stormy sea–“Where is your faith?” (Luke 8:25).
