Let's Go Back to the Bible

What a fellowship! What a joy divine!

There is nothing about the Christian life that we deserve! Nothing! We do not deserve the precious blood of Jesus being shed to redeem us from our sins (1 Pet. 1:18-19). We do not deserve to wear the marvelous name of Christ our Savior (Isa. 62:2; Acts 4:12; 11:26; 1 Cor. 1:11-13). We do not deserve the promise of eternal life in heaven (1 John 2:25).

We most certainly do not deserve to enjoy the blessing of fellowship with the almighty, pure, perfect, compassionate God of heaven! It is so hard to fathom that we could, at one time, be “dead in our trespasses and sins” (Eph. 2:1-5), but then be “reconciled” to our God (Col. 1:20-21; Eph. 2:14-18) and granted the wonder of fellowship with Him (1 John 1:3-7).

“What a fellowship, what a joy divine, Leaning on the everlasting arms; What a blessedness, what a peace is mine, Leaning on the everlasting arms…Safe and secure from all alarms…I have blessed peace with my Lord so near…Leaning on the everlasting arms.”
