Jesus taught that, unless one turns and becomes as little children, he cannot enter the kingdom (Matt. 18:3). For a great commentary on what God means by becoming as little children, look at the simplicity of heart in Psalm 131.
“Lord, my heart is not haughty,
Nor my eyes lofty.
Neither do I concern myself with great matters,
Nor with things too profound for me.
Surely I have calmed and quieted my soul,
Like a weaned child with his mother;
Like a weaned child is my soul within me.”
Have you weaned your soul from the things, attitudes and desires of this life? Is your soul truly satisfied, truly humble, truly dependent only on the Lord? If not, the kingdom is not yours. –– DS
