Let's Go Back to the Bible

Amazing that murder still gets America’s attention!

The first line of an article published just this morning read, “A 3-year-old boy who disappeared Sunday from his father’s Memphis home was found dead in a nearby dumpster Tuesday.” My heart aches every time I read a news story like this. The article went on to say, “Based upon the age of the missing child, and the blood evidence… the affiant has probable cause to believe that the child has sustained serious bodily injury.” The parent “was charged with child neglect or endangerment…is now in jail and could face additional charges.” How appalling!

Even more repulsive is the painful reality that every day in this land more than 3,300 children end up in a dumpster after sustaining serious bodily injury. But, no one is arrested or charged with a crime. No one goes to jail. In fact, it’s the complete opposite – the murderous act is applauded as the parents exercising their right to choose. If only the parent in this story had murdered the boy three years earlier before he was born, things would be so different. There would have been no criminal charges (for it would have been legal), and we never would have heard about it on the news (for it is so common, acceptable and expected today).
