Let's Go Back to the Bible

I don’t want to be ashamed!

The way that many of the psalmists wrote suggests they enjoyed an intimate relationship with their God. Yet, they still struggled. They prayed for the Lord to rally around them and keep them from shame. Notice in the Psalms what would keep a child of God from being ashamed.

“They trusted in You, and were not ashamed” (22:5). “O my God, I trust in You; Let me not be ashamed” (25:2). “Let no one who waits on You be ashamed” (25:3). “Do not let me be ashamed, O Lord, for I have called upon You” (31:17). “Then I would not be ashamed, When I look into all Your commandments” (119:6). “I cling to Your testimonies; O Lord, do not put me to shame” (119:31). “I will speak of Your testimonies…and will not be ashamed” (119:46).

I don’t want to be ashamed! How can I grow in this regard and keep shame from my heart? Look at the keys: trust in the Lord, wait on the Lord, call upon the Lord, look into all of His commandments, cling to His testimonies, speak His testimonies! It will work!
