Proverbs places a considerable emphasis on the fact that “the Lord gives wisdom…knowledge and understanding” (2:6). “There is no wisdom or understanding or counsel against the Lord” (21:30). “Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding” (4:7).
In Proverbs 24, the Lord says, “Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant [and enduring, 8:18] riches” (24:3-4). Building a home takes effort; it takes work. Building a home takes wisdom and knowledge and understanding. Now, remember from where such comes!
Are you lacking the wisdom and knowledge for building a successful home? He tells us, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge…wisdom” (1:7; 9:10). He tells us, “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God” (Jas. 1:5). Remember, “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it” (Psa. 127:1). Who is working on your home? — DS
