Ever been in a conversation when the other person thought that his/her wishes, thoughts and ideas were the only ones that mattered and you shouldn’t even waste your breath expressing yours? Or, have you ever been in a conversation when you were the one who thought that your wishes, thoughts and ideas were the only ones that mattered and everyone else should listen?
Perhaps all of us could benefit from a small dose of heavenly wisdom. “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, But he who heeds counsel is wise” (Prov. 12:15). “He who trusts in his own heart is a fool” (28:26). “Do not be wise in your own eyes” (3:7). “Do you see a man wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him” (26:12). “When pride comes, then comes shame” (11:2), “strife” (13:10) and “destruction” (16:18).
“Without consultation, plans fail, But with many counselors they succeed” (Prov. 15:22). “In the multitude of counselors there is safety” (Prov. 11:14). Something to consider and to apply!
