Let's Go Back to the Bible

“What am I going to do?”

While “there is nothing new under the sun” (Ecc. 1:9), and the temptations we face are “common to man” (1 Cor. 10:13), and “the same sufferings” that Satan brings upon us “are experienced by [our] brethren in the world” (1 Pet. 5:9), the trials, tribulations, hardships, sufferings, griefs, sorrows, burdens, pains, heartaches, uncertainties, anxieties that each of us face are, nevertheless, very traumatic to us.  The question is often asked, “What am I going to do?”  Every situation is different, but some principles for God’s children never change.

“Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in [God]” (Psa. 56:3).  “For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘Fear not, I will help you’” (Isa. 41:13).  “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world” (1 John 4:4).  “He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’  So we may boldly say: ‘The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?’” (Heb. 13:5-6).

“Build your hopes on things eternal, Hold to God’s unchanging hand!”
