Let's Go Back to the Bible

“Why isn’t my remote doohickey working?”

Have you seen the commercial where a lady (while talking on her cell phone) tries getting into a stranger’s high-class vehicle by pressing the keyless-entry remote for her “not-nearly-as-nice” car?  At first, she appears confused why “her key” will not get her into that luxury car, but to the informed observer, it’s pretty obvious.

I wonder if, on the day of judgment, someone may try doing the same thing to get into heaven.  Walking up to the luxurious rest of God and trying to use their own entry system to gain access.  Do you think it will work?  Consider these words from Jesus:  “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord’ (i.e., trying to use their own entry system) shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.  Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’  And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” (Matt. 7:21-23).  There is only one entry with only one access!
