Gods are supposed to have emotions, right? We read about the Greek gods of love, joy, pity, anger, violence, etc. But you know that those gods aren’t real, right? Those are fake, man-made gods. They have NO emotions, because they do NOT exist. The same goes for those stone and wooden idols—they have NO emotions, because they are a piece of stone or wood and are not alive. Yet, people still worship them.
But, you say, “I don’t care about those gods.” Ok. What about the cares, riches and pleasures of this life (Luke 8:14)? Those are “gods” that we serve (cf. Col. 3:5). We devote a lot of our time, money and energy to them, as if we worship them. But, guess what? They don’t care about you!
There is ONE GOD (Deut. 6:4; Eph. 4:6). There is NO OTHER (Isa. 45:5, 18, 21, 22; 1 Cor. 8:4). He is NOT fake! He is NOT man-made! He is REAL (Acts 17:24-28)! And that ONE and ONLY God “cares for you” (1 Pet. 5:7). Oh, “What is man…that You care for him?” (Psa. 8:4). Thank God that He does!
