Let's Go Back to the Bible

Without it, all my actions are useless

Paul was dealing with matters pertaining to the church and especially to the assemblies of the church in First Corinthians chapters twelve through fourteen, but there are some principles therein that we must apply in other parts of our lives. Paul begins “The Love Chapter” (1 Cor. 13) by emphasizing the absolute necessity of agape love. Think about this for a moment.

In verse 1, Paul says that if I could “SPEAK” wonderful things, “but have not love” when I speak them, it is a waste. In verse 2, Paul says that if I could “HAVE” wonderful abilities, “but have not love” when I utilize them, I am nothing. In verse 3, Paul says that if I could “GIVE” great gifts to others and the Lord, “but have not love” when I give them, it profits me nothing.

Make this application in your life. It doesn’t matter way I SAY, if I don’t say it with agape love. It doesn’t matter what I HAVE, if I don’t use it with agape love. It doesn’t matter what I do, if I don’t saturate it with agape love. This is more than just a marriage thing! This is a life thing!
