Let's Go Back to the Bible

See your potential

When the twelve Hebrew spies went into Canaan, they all saw the same things but not in the same way. Joshua and Caleb announced, “We are well able to overcome” (Num. 13:30). But the other ten spies despondently replied, “We are not able” (13:31). All of them had seen the giants in the land, but those weak in faith said, “We were like grasshoppers in our own sight” (13:33). Think about that. Not only did they believe that the enemy saw them as grasshoppers, but they saw themselves (through a weak faith) to be small and insignificant like grasshoppers.

There was one major factor that they had overlooked—God! They realized that “the Lord brought us TO this land” (14:3), so why didn’t they have the confidence that He would “bring us INTO this land” (14:8)? They had forgotten that “the Lord is with us” (14:9).

There may be proverbial giants all around you today making you feel small and insignificant. Don’t view yourself for any intrinsic greatness but, with eyes of faith, see the potential that exists from the Lord being on your side!
