What would happen if you treated your wife (or your girlfriend) like men treat ladies on television and in the movies? What would happen if you treated your wife (or your girlfriend) like the typical guy at work or in our society treats ladies? Are either of these a healthy standard? Now, what would happen if you treated your wife (or your girlfriend) like Jesus treats the church? Would that look different than the way you are treating her now? 
Can you picture Jesus opening the door for His bride, being kind to her, speaking respectfully to her, going out of His way to help her with some task, supporting her, providing for her, cherishing her, defending her, comforting her, taking personal responsibility for her well-being, sacrificing for her, loving her no matter what she did to Him? Of course you can! He’s Jesus!
According to Ephesians 5:22-33, He’s our model. The way today’s man treats his lady is to follow the pattern of the way Jesus treats His church. Do you need to make changes?
