Let's Go Back to the Bible

What does Jesus call you?

What would it have been like to be a part of Jesus’ family? Think about it. What would it have been like to be His mother? Do you think they enjoyed a close relationship? What do you think it would have been like to have been one of His brothers or one of His sisters? Pretty cool, wouldn’t you say? On one occasion, Jesus’ family members came to see Him. Listen to what He said to the crowd when his family’s arrival was announced.

“Whoever does the will of My father in heaven” (or one who would “hear the word of God and do it,” Luke 8:21) “is My brother and sister and mother” (Matt. 12:46-50). That’s quite an amazing declaration. Would you like Jesus to look at you and say, “My brother” or “My sister” or “My mother”? Such a remarkable thought, but He makes the condition clear–do the will of God!

Enjoying a close relationship with Jesus, as a member of His family, requires a yielding of my will to the will of God! Have you done that? Fully? Honestly? Unreservedly? Really?
