Let's Go Back to the Bible

Wacky mirrors

Ever been to a funhouse or a fair and stood in front of those “wacky mirrors” that distort your body to look really skinny or really fat or really short or really tall?  Those are always fun (at least, they’re fun for the other person who’s watching you).  You can stand in front of as many as you want and have fun doing it, but you walk away and you’re still the same you—no change.

Some people have the same experience with the Bible.  They stand in front of the Bible and they look at distorted, compared with how they should look.  They see areas where they might be thin, other areas where they might be short, and their response is sometimes amusing.  For the Bible is not some wacky mirror that man bent, framed and stuck in a circus somewhere.  The Bible is a mirror of the glory of the Lord and shows where and how we need to be transformed into His image (2 Cor. 3:18).

Unfortunately, just like those wacky mirrors, too many look at themselves in the mirror of the Bible and then walk away unchanged.  See any areas in your life that need improvement?
