Let's Go Back to the Bible

“You’ve got something stuck in your teeth”

After telling someone some vitally important information that he needed to know, the person said to me, “You’ve got something stuck in your teeth.” Embarrassed, I removed the leafy item, and then came this question, “Now, what we’re you saying?” I had already explained everything he needed to hear in detail, but he hadn’t “heard” any of it. All he was doing was looking at the green piece of food stuck in my teeth. Now I had to say it all over again.

Believe it or not, there is a spiritual application here. We have a responsibility to tell people some vitally important information that they really need to know–details about Jesus, life, salvation and eternity. But, it may be possible that we have something else in our lives that is distracting them from what they need to hear–our speech, our conduct, our attitude, etc.

Look in the mirror (of God’s Word). Is there something about you that may be preventing others from hearing the message of Jesus? May God help us to keep ourselves out of the way!
