Let's Go Back to the Bible

Nobody’s perfect!

People. People. People. What can we say about them? They encourage us and then discourage us, impress us and then disappoint us, inspire us and then irritate us. Too often, the people in our lives let us down, lie to us or leave us in a lurch.  What are we to do?

First, let’s remember that our faith needs to be in Jesus before it is in people (John 14:1). Second, let’s try to look at people through Jesus’ eyes (John 13:34; 15:13). Let’s try to see them the way that Jesus sees them. Or, to say it a little differently, let’s try to look at them the way that Jesus looks at us. Third, let’s recognize our own failings, realizing that our shortcomings are no better than theirs (Matt. 7:1-5). Fourth, let’s keep our eye on the big picture, the grand scheme, what really matters. We cannot afford to let someone else or some situation take our eyes off of heavenly matters (Col. 3:1-4).

Nobody is perfect, including me! But Jesus is! And heaven is! And Christ-like living is!
