Let's Go Back to the Bible

Find the good, make the good!

It sure can be easy to let the circumstances of life and the things happening around us to get us down and dejected. What else is going to go wrong in this country? What else is going to happen to the cost of living? What else is going to trouble my family and my friends?

Rather than focusing on “all the bad things” that keep happening, let’s target our attention and our efforts in a positive direction. Isn’t that what Jesus did, what the apostles did, what the early church did? For example, every day, spend time trying to identify “good things” that happen. At lunchtime, “What good has happened this morning?” At dinner, “What good happened this afternoon?” If we will re-focus what we’re looking for during the day, it will help our outlook.

Then, don’t just “look for the good,” go out and “make good things happen”! Don’t wait for others to be nice to you, be nice to them first. Don’t wait for others to smile, extend a hand or express gratitude, you do it first. It will change your attitude! It will change you!
