Let's Go Back to the Bible

I Love the Palm Beach Lakes Church of Christ Because…

We have just finished one of our finest lectureships ever.  What a tremendous blessing to spend ten hours over the course of a weekend growing in our love for the Lord, His Son, His Word and His church!  This event is one of the great highlights on the church calendar every year…and for good reason.

Our theme for this year’s lectureship was “I Love the Church of Christ Because,” and it highlighted the Scriptural approach that the church of the New Testament takes to sixteen vitally important matters.  It was such an outstanding and valuable study!  I would like to branch off of that theme and share some reasons, from the events of this weekend, why “I Love the Palm Beach Lakes Church of Christ.”

“I Love the Palm Beach Lakes Church of Christ Because of Its Elders.” Over 17 years ago, the PBL eldership decided that they wanted to host a Bible lectureship right here in South Florida.  Since that time, we have had seventeen weekends filled with some of the best lessons from some of the best speakers this side of heaven!  What a blessing to have men of such vision and purpose leading this church!

“I Love the Palm Beach Lakes Church of Christ Because of Its Teachers.” More than 25 of our members prepared (on their own, from scratch) Bible Class lessons to teach our children about loving God, His Word, His Son, His Church and His Plan for Us.  What a blessing to have ladies and gentlemen of such love and devotion teaching in this church!

“I Love the Palm Beach Lakes Church of Christ Because of Its Hard-Working, Servant-Hearted Members.” Scores of helpers were needed from beginning to end to make it all flow so smoothly.  There were those who operated audio/video controls, coordinated the breakout sessions and helped with our out-of-town guests.  More than 30 members got here early for the sessions to help with greeting and registration.  Nearly another 30 were involved in some way in preparing or serving or cleaning up after the Corn Roast.  All of our hard-working, servant-hearted members deserve our deepest gratitude, but I want to especially thank those who so flawlessly and lovingly assist in any way with the Corn Roast.  Serving and cleaning are at the top of every “Thankless Job” list, but I want you to know that each one of you is greatly loved and appreciated for what you do!  What a blessing to have brothers and sisters who “do unto others”!

I love this congregation!  Thank you to each person who made this year’s lectureship such a spectacular event!
