Let's Go Back to the Bible

10/10/10 @ 10 + 1 = Perfection

When we try to rate things we often use the 1 to 10 scale.  We hear questions about how well we like a product based on a 1 to 10 scale.  Movies, restaurants, home appliances and a host of things around us are measured in this way.  So when planning our Super Sunday, the number 10 became the obvious focus of the event, since it would be on the 10th day of the 10th month of the 10th year at 10 A.M.

There are so many things which will make this day a great day.  There has been great preparation with a great theme for a great speaker who has great topics to be delivered to a great audience.

Great preparation. The unique way of advertising this day has made it easy to develop the huge banner on our building facing I-95.  The handouts and flyers to give/send to friends were easy to develop and make it an easy talking point to invite others.  The arrangements for the catered meals (have you ordered and paid for yours?) will make for a smooth transition between our morning services and the early afternoon one.  All things are ready.

Great theme. This perfect day (10/10/10) will have three divisions and each of them discusses important days mentioned in the Bible—the third day, the sixth day and the last day.

Great speaker. We are blessed to be able to arrange for Sam Jones to return to Palm Beach Lakes.  In addition to speaking about the home in the lesson he delivered on our lectureship, he preached in one of our greatest gospel meetings.  We have members who mention to me they are still listening to copies of some of those sermons.

Great topics. What topics could be more vital today than a discussion of the resurrection of Jesus (the third day), the home as envisioned by God (the sixth day) or the events at the end of time (the last day)?  These are topics you and your friends need.

Great audience. Just how great this audience will be depends on our desire to make it great.  While God never condemns us for the refusal of others to come, He does hold us accountable for whether we invite them to come.  The number of visitors we have is directly related to the number of invitations we extend.  The title of this article ends with “+1.”  That one is you!

Don’t ever forget these words. Let your heart sing them.

You never mentioned Him to me,

You helped me not the light to see;

You met me day by day and knew I was astray,

Yet never mentioned Him to me.
